Alien predator
This is a piece of concept art of a predator from another world based of a design that I made as an adolescent. I spent a lot time imagening alien ecospheres. This creature inhabits a jungle made of towering high interwoven trees with giant lilypad like leaves. It has evolved long spindly legs to cross the gaps between the branches and leaves. It catches prey with its hands and claws. The strings between the neck and the head function as a type instrument; vibrating tones within the cavities in the skull to create a deep metallic humming which is used for communication. On the back of its head is has fluorescent appendages for use in matingrituals within the darkness of the forest.
I drew the original design when I was 13/14 years old in watercolor.

Original painting
I’m still quite fond of these designs which is why I want to revisit them and recreate them using my current skills.
